It does lack acceleration and cargo room, but the rear seats do fold flat and there are plenty of spots to store smaller items. Edmunds does recommend the Grand Touring Reserve model which can be a bit pricey, although, the premium features make a world of difference.
9 Honda CR-V (8.1/10)
This car has gone basically unchanged since 2017, but when something isn't broken there is no sense in fixing it. It has a starting MSRP of $24,450 and it has a roomy interior, phenomenal turbocharged engine, and provides a comfortable ride.
The base engine isn't the greatest and the touchscreen doesn't always cooperate, but overall it is a fantastic choice for a car. Edmunds recommends the EX model as it has a better engine and premium features for only a few grand more that still stays within most customers' budgets.
8 Porsche Cayenne (8.1/10)
This car is obviously a bit more expensive as it is a luxury brand and it comes with a starting MSRP of $65,700. The 2019 model was redesigned with a large selection of better engines than previous years. It has so many customizable options and handles the road like a champ which explains why it comes so highly recommended.

A few of the cons are some of the excluded optional features, the look of the interior paneling, and poor visibility out of the rearview mirror. Edmunds recommends the Cayenne S, which is their middle-grade model as it offers a good balance of features and speed.

The downside is that the driver's seat isn't made for petite drivers and the adaptive cruise control is only available over 20 mph, but these are a small price to pay for a great SUV. Edmunds recommends the EX-L as it is the perfect blend of added safety features and upgraded trim.
6 Hyundai Palisade (8.2/10)
Technically this SUV is a 2020 model that has already been released as it comes with a starting MSRP of $31,550. It has three-row seating with plenty of legroom for your adult passengers, as well as a great V6 engine and lots of standard and optional features.

The downside is there are no optional engine upgrades, so if you hate the drive then this car isn't for you. They recommend the SEL model, as the pricing remains reasonable for the features, unlike their top Limited model which sees the price skyrocketing.
5 Mercedes-Benz GLC-Class (8.4/10)
This SUV has a starting MSRP of $40,700, which is a bit more expensive than most, but still not out of a lot of customers' price range. 2019 brought a few changes as they added heated seats, a power outlet, and a new optional off-roading package for true adventurers.
It has a beautiful interior design, has a drive that is perfect for any daily commute, plenty of legroom, and a great fuel economy. The only downfall is that some find the technology difficult to use. Edmunds actually suggests the entry-level GLC 300 as it comes with plenty of standard features and customization options that will suit most drivers.
4 Kia Telluride (8.4/10)
This is Edmunds top-pick for a midsize three-row SUV and it has a starting price of $31,690 and it has released its first model as a 2020. It comes with a V6 engine, plenty of interior space with comfortable seats, and standard features that outshine many other SUV models.

The downside is there are no powertrain upgrades and less small-item storage, but the other pros make up for these small details. This is another SUV where the base LX model is all you really need as it comes with all of the standard features drivers need for a budget-friendly price.
3 Lincoln Navigator (8.4/10)
This is the top-rated large luxury SUV and the price tag shows it as it starts at $75,825. There are so many nice things this vehicle has to offer like plenty of interior space, a turbocharged V6 engine, several optional features, and tech that is easy to use.
It might not be the best vehicle to take off-roading and it is too big for some garages, but the luxury factor is what makes it a winner. Edmunds suggest people buy the mid-level reserve as you can add on the trailer package for more towing, as well as other useful safety features.
2 Mercedes-Benz GLE-Class (8.4/10)

This is another Mercedes that tops the list and they have cars released for both 2019 and 2020 that are exceptional. The 2020 model is arguably better as it underwent a redesign with a new upscale cabin, top-of-the-line infotainment system, and great visibility and suspension.
Edmund's does recommend the GLE-350 model as adding other options onto the higher model drove the price up from the original MSRP of $53,700. The higher model also comes with a suspension package that many drivers dislike.
1 Audi Q7 (8.4/10)
This SUV has a starting MSRP of $53,550 which is a bit high, but definitely worth it after the 2019 redesign. Navigation systems are now standard in this vehicle, and the premium plus trim package adds so many luxury features that drivers are raving about.
